CLASS OF 1970 WEBSITE MISSION
PREFACE
Personally witnessing how difficult it is to organize a reunion provided the inspiration for building this website that will serve our interest as a group and make the process of information exchange easy for everyone. There is a core group of classmates that always surface to make reunions happen and this website now exists because of their willingness to give of themselves generously. As a result, this will be a permanent 'Class of 1970' website where we can reminisce the simpler days, reconnect with old friends and post contributions to share with others.
WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP
1. Your registration is essential to our mission. Register your contact information so we can reach you via email. It is our intention to poll registered classmates for suggestions regarding future reunions. We may also arrange for interim reunions if justified.
2. Update you Contact Info whenever you change your email, mailing address, or name.
3. Spread the word, to other classmates that you maintain contact with, about the site to encourage and maximize classmate participation.
4. Send us the contact information for classmates you find on our missing classmate page.
5. Do not get upset with the committee if you find a mistake on the website or the website doesn't have what you would like to see. If you have a problem or suggestion please use the 'Contact Us' and we will do what's necessary to make it right.
WEBSITE BENEFITS FOR YOU
1. This website is free and will remain that way. It is hosted and maintained by volunteers, at absolutely no cost to the classmates. This website can be a central place to conduct class affairs for as long as the classmates find it valuable and actively participate in its ongoing maintenance.
2. Registration is restricted to classmates only! Once you register, you will have access to information protected from the prying eyes of non-classmates. Registration also allows you to publish a link to your website so others can learn about you in the present, or patronize your business. If your registration contains an error, we will contact you privately to correct it.
3. You will only receive emails from us when we have information that is important to all classmates, such as reunion announcements, website changes, and the death of a classmate.
4. We will only spend money on 'snail-mail' for Reunion Announcements. Although we understand that some classmates do not use email or have access to a computer, you must also understand that this website is being provided for free and has no source of income.
5. You may contact the committee at any time, via email, to ask a question, correct and error, make a suggestion, send a message, send photos for the Photo Gallery, or send a news story.
6. You can read Class News that has been posted for the general benefit of classmates. We do not intend to provide any kind of newsletter, chat service, or blogs, unless someone is willing to donate their time to maintain such features.
We value and need your participation.
SITE NOTES:
1. You can assume that any classmate named on this website is a member of the Class of 1970. However, we did include a few classmates that did not actually graduate with us due to their leaving Hopewell High School immediately prior to or during our senior year.
2. This website has the potential to become whatever we wish to make of it. You are welcome and encouraged to participate with suggestions, artwork, anecdotes, news of important bearing, or photographs.
3. The Photo Gallery has capabilities well beyond its present use. So, pull those dusty old class photos and consider posting them here. If you have the capability to scan your photos, please save the images in jpeg format, scanned at 300 ppi (pixels per inch) at 100% original size. If you do not have the ability to scan photographs and are willing to part with those photos for a few weeks, please send a message via the 'Contact Us' page to obtain a name and address to mail the photos to. We will return the photos immediately upon scan completion.
4. We do not present our users with pop-ups, banners or any other form of advertising. If you see or receive one of these items, it is coming from an outside source, either as a result of something you have previously downloaded or as an "exit" pop-up from the site you just visited. It is not coming from our site.
